Eggplant Earrings

I made these earrings today. It’s hard to see in the eggplant. I put a flower-shaped hat made of Silver-lip oyster that I bought the other day on the pearl.

When I make a product, there are times when I have a clear idea of what I want to make, and times when I think about what I can make from the pearls and parts I have on hand. This time it’s the latter. Gaze at this flower-shaped Silver-lip oyster and survey my pearls.

These pearls also have different shapes and colors. It’s difficult to make a pair of pearls because even if the color is the same, the shape is different. When I make a pair of pearls, I choose two that have a “similar vibe” like brothers and sisters. Sometimes brothers and sisters have completely different faces and heights, but for some reason we are convinced that they are brothers and sisters. Likewise, I choose pearls that feel the same.

And I think the pearls I chose probably have roughly the same nacre thickness. I think that the thickness of nacre thickness has a great influence on the “atmosphere” that the pearl creates.

Regarding this earring, is the big one the older sister and the smaller one the younger sister? It seems to hang on the stem like a vegetable before harvest. Just like vegetables, pearls come in various shapes in their natural state. The same is true for us humans. Everyone is different. At the same time, when people’s hearts move like emotions, there will surely be something in common. Be moved when you see something beautiful, and feel sad when someone is hurt.

While we all have different personalities, there are some things we have in common deep down. I think that kind of thing is great.

I am part of a Japanese company with an Akoya pearl farm. Apart from the company, I personally run an Akoya pearl shop. I would appreciate it if I could share smiles with various people through pearls.
