Unexpected Connections: WordPress Enthusiasm and Customer Delight

Today, I was blessed with good weather again, so I re-photographed two products that I forgot to do yesterday. I always forget two or three things whenever I do something.

After that, I headed to Tokushima City, which is over 100 kilometers away from my home. I made this site using a software called WordPress, but I don’t really understand it well. I heard that there was a WordPress exchange meeting in Tokushima City today, so I decided to go. It took me some time to decide to go to Tokushima because I have a lot of other things to do. I also want to make pearl products, sort the pearl inventory, and practice the guitar. While I was thinking about that, I remembered an inquiry that I received at the company I work for. The company’s agent runs a pearl vending machine(Akoya pearl Gacha), and a customer who used the machine asked, “Is it possible to buy the accessory that I really want from the vending machine?”

The customer really wanted an accessory. It seems that she has a fondness for turtles.

I told her that I have it in stock and that I will ship it next week. This customer lived in Tokushima City. The location of the exchange meeting that I was hesitating to participate in this morning and the customer’s home were about 15 minutes away by motorcycle. Once I knew that, I immediately prepared to leave and rode my motorcycle. It was very enjoyable to drive a long distance on a motorcycle after a long time. The WordPress exchange meeting was too advanced for me, but I was able to understand a little bit about what WordPress users are looking for and how they view WordPress. In that sense, there was meaning in my participation. However, the boy who seemed to have the most knowledge and experience among the participants was a elementary school student. He overwhelmed others with his amazing amount of information and experience. His mother was also present, but she laughed bitterly, saying, “I don’t understand at all.” The theme of this meeting was mainly “How to use WordPress” and “Issues with using WordPress,” but the boy seemed to be creating his own system, and there were many questions about development that he could answer, making it difficult for others to provide appropriate answers. After the meeting, I delivered the vending machine product to the customer’s home. This vending machine costs about $7 per turn and comes with a necklace with a brass charm and a pearl.

The customer was just amazed that someone from the company came all the way to deliver a $7 product. However, the customer, who was around 20 years old, and her mother were both very happy. Actually, I could have sent the product to her by courier, but by bringing it myself, I was able to participate in the WordPress exchange meeting and ride my beloved motorcycle. It was a very fulfilling day.

On the way back, the sky was cloudy. This is an image taken of the Seto Inland Sea from Awajishima City, Hyogo Prefecture.

I am part of a Japanese company with an Akoya pearl farm. Apart from the company, I personally run an Akoya pearl shop. I would appreciate it if I could share smiles with various people through pearls.
