Starting this year, the videos posted on the Flower Jem YouTube channel have shifted to a live-stream format.
The reason is simple: to reduce editing time.
Even minimal editing for a regular video takes about two hours.
With live streaming, it takes only about five minutes.
The footage is a completely unedited, continuous view of the pearl-making process, so it may feel unfriendly or inconvenient for some viewers.
Most videos online today are highly polished and refined.
I decided to allow myself a little indulgence and thought that perhaps it’s okay to have videos like this sometimes.
Today, I also sent out a newsletter for the first time in a while.
In it, I wrote about pearl design using an analogy between convenience-store water and natural spring water.
Since I always write whatever comes to mind at the moment, I never know what kind of article it will become until it’s finished.
