Hello, this is Flower Jem.
Today, I have listed a new pair of earrings called “Tsuioku” on the Flower Jem website. I created these earrings two weeks ago as part of a larger batch of twelve pairs. Of those, five have already been listed on Etsy, and now two have been uploaded to the Flower Jem site.
In addition to these earrings, I’ve also completed three bracelets and two necklaces — both the production and photography are finished. However, I simply haven’t had enough time to list them all yet.
One of the main reasons for the delay is my weekday job, which recently required intensive inventory work. For the last three days of the month and the first two days of October, I worked until nearly 11 p.m. each night. My shift starts just after 7 a.m., so after physical labor during the day and office work in the evening, I’ve been constantly exhausted and sleepy. Today, I was able to come home at 8 p.m., which is why I finally managed to publish at least one listing.
Besides inventory, there’s also the preparation of new products at my weekday job — something that, honestly, I have no interest in. I simply do the work without emotion. If it were new creations for Flower Jem, I would enjoy it, but this is different.
Unfortunately, I have to work again tomorrow, which means that this week, Sunday will be my only day to focus on pearls. I also have several custom orders to fulfill, some of which will be delivered directly to customers visiting Japan, so deadlines are tight. Recently, I placed an order for several findings from a supplier. It took two days just to receive confirmation by email, and only then could I make the payment. I was hoping the components would arrive by Sunday so I could start production, but that may not happen. If I had been able to pay on Friday night, they would have shipped on Saturday, and the package from Tokyo would likely have reached Kobe the next day.
In addition to listing the five Sixty Series earrings, I also plan to create a dedicated page introducing all five pieces together. When it comes to pearls, comparison is often the best way to understand their quality. Factors like nacre thickness and luster level become clearer when you see pearls side by side. If you are purchasing pearls in person, I highly recommend visiting several stores. Even if you cannot compare them side by side, viewing pearls from multiple shops on the same day will give you a better sense of quality. Of course, if you are buying from a well-known brand, that is a different story, but if quality is your priority, seeing as many pearls as possible is essential.
Anyway, I wrote this post quickly just to share this product update.
Ah, there’s still so much I want to do — work on Lulu’s ring, continue engraving for the Hold series, create more necklaces, write more articles, retake product photos for Etsy, add subtitles to all my YouTube videos, improve my editing, and design better thumbnails… The list never ends.
On a different note, yesterday I finally did something I had been thinking about for the past year and a half: I went for a walk. I was tired, my body felt heavy, and I was sleepy, but I decided to go outside to clear my mind and stretch my body. Normally, I would make excuses and stay home, but this time I didn’t think — I just went. And it was wonderful. My mind and body felt refreshed.
There’s a park about a three-minute walk from my apartment in Osaka, where I stay for my weekday job. I’ve lived here for a year and a half, but it was my first time visiting. Even though it was late at night, the streetlights made it easy to walk, and the cool early autumn air felt so good. Many people make walking a daily habit, and I now understand why — it clears the mind. I’d love to walk in the early morning, but that’s difficult for me. I usually go to bed around 1 a.m. and wake up at 6 a.m., but it takes me about 30 minutes to get out of bed, hitting the snooze button every five minutes. Maybe it’s low blood pressure, but my body just doesn’t move in the morning. I always think I should go to bed by 10 p.m., but it never happens.
It’s now 11:40 p.m., and that’s how my days go — updates are slow, regular posts are delayed, and yet I keep working like a horse every single day.
Good night from Japan, and good morning to those in distant countries. May your day be a wonderful one. Pearl Bless You.
