Today was my last day at the company where I work. My final task was to get approval from the director of the pearl cultivation department for the financial meeting documents that will be held in half a month. Over the past ten years, I’ve received a lot of scolding from that director. To put it plainly, I was scolded often. However, today, the director, sounding sad, said to me over the phone, “So today’s your last day. I’m going to miss you.” Feeling like crying myself, I said, “Director! Please scold me as usual!” We laughed and bid each other farewell.
I only had to work in the morning on Saturday. In the afternoon, a colleague invited me to a café for our final farewell. We spent time reminiscing about past memories and events. It wasn’t always pleasant, but we had a good time together.
In the evening, I returned home and immediately went back to my parents’ house.
My mother was making tissue cases from kimono fabric to give as presents to my customers. I returned home to discuss with my mother which kimono to use for the next batch of cases.
This is a gift for those who purchased pearl products. Somehow, tissue cases made from this kimono fabric have become established as gifts. I’ve always liked this pattern, but finally, this will be the last one. Tomorrow, I’ll discuss with my mother which kimono to use for the next batch.
As usual, Lulu welcomed me when I arrived home. My mother was making sushi rolls.
It was a peaceful time. This month will be busy with various procedures related to retirement and job changes. However, tonight I was able to spend a relaxing time with Lulu.
