Today is December 31st. I was drinking with a friend until about 3:00 a.m. the day before. I had an order for a bracelet on Etsy in the morning, so I went to the post office to ship it. The person who gave me the order was from New York. New York is indeed a dreamy land. I would like to visit there once.
After the post office finished shipping, I went straight to my parents’ house. It takes about an hour and a half to get to my parents’ house by motorcycle. The distance is 50 km. I think it’s a distance that’s neither too far nor too close.
When I returned to my parents’ house, I was treated to the hospitality of LuLu, who is kept at my parents’ house.
After playing with her for a while, I went shopping with my mother. Today, my brother’s family is going home, so we went shopping for dinner.
We went to AEON Mall, which is about 15 minutes by car from my parents’ house. AEON is a famous shopping mall in Japan. We expanded into Japan more than 10 years ago. And thanks to that, many traditional shopping streets all over Japan were destroyed.
Our dinner tonight, December 31st, is Sushi. And tomorrow night, January 1st, is Sukiyaki. The menu doesn’t seem to have changed since long ago. However, compared to the old days, the ingredients for sushi have become fresher and it seems to have grown. I think this is due to the development of distribution in Japan.
This is a motorcycle shop near my parents’ house. Originally, it was written as “YAMAHA,” but it was designed so that the alphabet would disappear once every 10 years.
When I got home from shopping, my older brother’s family had come home, so my brother and nephew and LuLu went to a nearby elementary school. Me, my nephew and LuLu were running around the schoolyard and my brother was practicing his unicycle.
This train is called “N gauge” or “N scale”. It is made quite finely.
This train model was a Christmas present for my nephew. I played with this train for a while. I want this model railroad of mine.
We spend the end of the year leisurely like this. In the past, we all used to go to New Year’s visits and participate in events, but in recent years, it’s become more common to spend time relaxing at home.
It will be the new year in an hour, and I’m already getting sleepy.
