Creating Stunning Necklaces: My Experience With 20,000 Pearls

I started the process of sorting over 20,000 pearls in the latter half of April and have been working on creating necklaces. Along the way, I consulted with Chinese buyers multiple times to ensure the quality of the necklaces. The reason for seeking their opinion is that they regularly purchase pearls from various companies and are more knowledgeable about pearl quality and market trends, in my opinion. Since I work as a company employee during the day, I sort the pearls and make the necklaces at night. Due to other obligations, progress on necklace-making hasn’t been as smooth as I hoped. It took me about two months to finally create thirteen necklaces. Yesterday, the Chinese buyer finally purchased those pearls from me. These pearls are not mine; they belong to another client of mine. Since he doesn’t know how to sort pearls or make necklaces, he entrusted me with the task and followed my suggestions. Although there is no financial profit for me in this business arrangement, the experience with these pearls has been immensely beneficial for me. It has allowed me to establish a close relationship with the Chinese buyer, who introduced me to various Chinese shops in Osaka, where their company is located.

The necklace-making process has been extremely busy, depriving me of meals and sleep, and I even lost six kilograms of weight at one point. However, thanks to these struggles, I finally managed to close the first deal for the necklaces, leaving me ecstatic and overwhelmed with joy. Normally, it is said that five necklaces can be made in a day. However, due to the limited time I could devote to it, it took me two months to make thirteen necklaces. Now that I have learned the ropes, I believe I will be able to create necklaces a bit faster. Additionally, it’s about time I prepare new products for Etsy. I originally started this site to increase sales on Etsy, but I realized that it now consumes a significant amount of my time for updates. It’s a case of losing sight of the original purpose. Once the necklace-making settles down, I have also begun the process of carving rings. I’m not sure when, but I will soon showcase the rings I create. I aspire to create magnificent jewelry, even if it takes five or ten years.

I am part of a Japanese company with an Akoya pearl farm. Apart from the company, I personally run an Akoya pearl shop. I would appreciate it if I could share smiles with various people through pearls.
