I am still building this shopping site today. Today’s work was favicon production first. To be honest, I didn’t have a concrete image of the favicon yet. Since it’s a Flower Jem, I made it a flower. Regarding Akoya pearls, it is said that “flower” appeared when really good pearls were found when harvesting pearls from the sea. The word “flower” has long been used by the people of the Akoya pearl farms as a technical term for craftsmen. Currently, there are many certifications issued by private certification agencies, but the evaluation of pearls by those at the farms is different. For those of us who work at Akoya pearl farms, we have doubts about the private sector’s evaluation.
Anyway, today I made a favicon for personal computers and smartphones. I’m going to use this for now. I really want to use something more sophisticated, but I have to build a lot of other stores. At the same time, I think it’s a pretty cute favicon.
Next, I created each menu and inquiry form for the site. While working on it, I was a little daunted by the fact that I had to create more pages than I had imagined. However, as a company employee who owns a pearl farm, I would like to share information about how pearls are selected, the essential value and beauty of pearls, and how Akoya pearls are produced. The company I work for also publishes them on its website. However, since it is just a company, I can not tell you the details. I would like to write about pearls as if I were speaking at a water cooler, rather than giving a lecture in a large hall. You don’t have to buy pearls from me, and I don’t want you to buy pearls in the first place. I hope that more people will become interested in pearls, even if just for a moment. This is because, like other agricultural, forestry and fishery products, each pearl is made by many people with great care. No, it’s the same with other industrial products. In order to provide these explanations, I must first create the foundation for this site.
I buy and sell pearls privately with the permission of the company I work for. I would be happy if I could achieve something that is difficult to do at a company.
It was a chilly day today. The wind was strong and the clouds seemed to move quickly.
It’s hard to see in this video, but there’s the ocean beyond the group of buildings. The peninsula is faintly visible beyond the sea. This peninsula is called the Kii Peninsula. In the 1400s, the southern tip of this peninsula was said to have been one of the world’s leading trading ports. It seems that there were many people from foreign countries such as Portuguese and Africans in the city. The peninsula today is much more deserted than it was then. There is an area called Nagasaki where Christianity was one of the first propagated in Japan. It is the westernmost part of the Japanese archipelago.
The distance from Nagasaki to the Kii Peninsula is about 800 km. Some Christians who were persecuted from the 17th century to the 19th century fled from Nagasaki to the Kii Peninsula beyond this distance. When I traveled to this peninsula, I found some Christian church deep in the mountains. And there are also many Christians. I met an Irish priest there. He is a very compassionate person and a very respectable person. The priest is old and physically handicapped. But whenever someone is in trouble, he goes to the person in need. I was wondering why there was a church deep in the mountains, but when I looked it up, I found the reason as above.
I’m not Christian and I don’t know much about religion. However, I am moved by the fact that they believe in something, their ability to take action, and that they do not give up even when persecuted, and that they have remained in shape even after hundreds of years.
By the way, all the Akoya pearls I sell are produced at the Akoya pearl farm in Nagasaki. It is very difficult to certify the origin of Akoya pearls, but it is possible because the company I work for owns a pearl farm.
To explain the simple distribution route of Akoya pearls, pearls are purchased at auctions from pearl farms in various parts of Japan → designated traders all over Japan. At this point, the pearls from each pearl farm gather at each pearl processor, making it difficult to prove the origin.
I plan to explain this in more detail in the future. See you soon.
