8 mm Akoya natural blue baroque pearl earrings.

The deep, mysterious blue of these pearls reminded me of Aonibi, the name of a traditional Japanese color.

Aonibi refers to a calm, subdued blue with a hint of gray.

At least in everyday conversation, I do not think I have ever heard anyone use the word “Aonibi.” In fact, I did not know the word myself. I came across it while thinking about a name for these pearls.

These earrings were first listed in August 2024. After some time, the listing was taken down, and they remained unlisted until August 2026.

They have a deep blue color and a smooth surface. Their luster is not extremely strong, but rather soft and gentle.

They seem to have a very calm atmosphere. As expected, the nacre is thick, and the deep luster of this Aonibi color is very attractive.

When I look closely into the surface of the pearls, I feel a depth almost like looking into the deep sea. This is one of the great pleasures of pearls with thick nacre.
