This is an Akoya pearl ring.
I have been studying metal engraving for about a year, and this time I created this ring by engraving it myself.

I don’t create with a specific image in mind.
It’s because I lack the skill to create exactly what I envision.

However, in a vague sense, my ideal is to create something soft, approachable, elegant, and refined, yet also capable of understanding humor—something not pretentious but rather something that makes your heart skip a beat.

This ring matched that ideal.
Of course, these are just my personal tastes, so when someone looks at this ring, it might immediately come down to whether it suits their preferences or not.

I actually started making this ring about a year ago.
Since it was my first engraving project, I spent entire days polishing it. Therefore, if I may say so myself, I think it became a delicate design.

It can be seen as a shape resembling a mother cradling her child.
It also looks like the precious pearl is being hugged.

Today is September 16, 2024.
The material of this ring is silver 950, not 925.

Additionally, many commercial silver products are rhodium-plated.
By applying rhodium plating, the piece becomes more durable, and the color appears slightly brighter.

If this ring doesn’t sell after a while, I plan to ask a casting company to rhodium-plate it and also make a mold for it so it can be made in gold or platinum.

I think it turned out well, considering it’s my first attempt at engraving.

Above all, I think this ring maximizes the charm of the blue pearl.
It has blue, green, and a slight hint of red, and I think it showcases the high-quality pearl’s luster and smoothness very well.

As a beginner in engraving, if I say this, professionals might think, “What are you talking about?”
Maybe if I look at this article five years from now, I’ll want to bury my face in a pillow out of embarrassment.

However, at this moment, I am very pleased with it.
By coincidence, I think I managed to create the ring’s metal fittings just as I wanted.

In fact, today I got carried away and made another ring. However, it didn’t turn out as I envisioned.
So this ring was just a lucky success.

Up until now, even if I found a wonderfully unique pearl, I couldn’t turn it into a product successfully.
But from now on, by creating a stage that suits the pearl, like a solo ballerina, I feel like I’ll be able to provide a place where the pearl can shine even more.
