This is a pair of Akoya pearl earrings.

Originally, these earrings were made with silver stud fittings. This time, at the customer’s request, I changed the fittings to K18 gold.

By changing them from studs to earring fittings, and from silver to K18 gold, the overall impression has changed significantly, and they now feel much more refined and luxurious.

For reference, the original stud earrings were made on June 26, 2022. At that time, Flower Jem had not yet started giving names to each piece, so these earrings did not have a name.

These are earrings made with uniquely shaped pearls. Although the two pearls are different in size, their luster and color are very similar. To me, they felt like siblings. In fact, when I make pairs of earrings, I have always been carefully gathering pearls that feel like “brothers or sisters” among the pearls — beautiful blue pearls that were, so to speak, overlooked or mixed in by chance.

This means that these earrings are made from pearls that were once set aside, but later rediscovered and brought back to life.

When selling on Etsy, various fees are charged, such as sales fees, the payment services that Etsy requires sellers to use, and currency conversion fees. On the Flower Jem website, however, those fees are much lower. My intention is to pass that difference back to my customers.

The newsletter includes articles about pearls as well as everyday thoughts and experiences. It is sent about once or twice a month, so it should not be intrusive. Some people even tell me that they look forward to it every time.

Recently, I have also started using FedEx for shipping. Shipping costs vary by region, but they are generally around 100 to 140 dollars. Normally, pearls are shipped via Japan Post’s EMS service. Officially, EMS states that delivery to the United States or Europe takes about six days, but in reality it can sometimes take around ten days. In some cases, shipments have arrived in Canada in as little as four days.
