1 in stock

🌸Handmade in Japan
This baroque Akoya natural blue pearl bracelet features thick nacre, vibrant ocean blue tones, and exceptional luster—hallmarks of Flower Jem’s genuine seawater Akoya pearls from Japan. Perfect for those seeking luxury pearl jewelry with a unique story.

🌸The Story Behind the Name
The name Summer Afternoon Drowsiness has a simple origin: before making this bracelet, I had an egg sandwich for lunch.
Sleepiness soon followed, and I surrendered—taking a nap for about an hour before continuing.
This piece became a unique handmade Japanese bracelet with its own special memory.

🌸From Technical to Story-Driven Names
For years, my product names on Etsy were purely technical:
Akoya natural blue pearl, 8.0–8.5mm, not dyed, seawater pearl, from Japan.
Good for search, yes—but nearly all my products use Akoya Natural Blue Pearls, so the names blended together.

Recently, I’ve begun naming each piece like a diary entry—capturing the time, mood, or memory of the day it was made.
This approach turns each handmade Akoya pearl bracelet into a story worth remembering, making it more than just jewelry.

🌸About the Pearls
These baroque seawater pearls have thick nacre and strong luster. Even under bright light, the natural blue hue doesn’t fade.
Each pearl is untreated—allowing the genuine ocean-born color to shine softly for decades.

🌸See the Making Process
The making process of this bracelet has been captured on video.
You can watch:

☆A time-lapse jewelry-making video

☆A full unedited version showing the all-knot stringing technique

☆A comparison video featuring two other Akoya pearl bracelets

I hope you’ll see for yourself—“Are they really that good?”—through this video.

🌸A Personal Memory
While writing these captions, my neighbor asked about a power outage. There had been two brief ones that day—unusual here—and it reminded me of my father, who worked for Kansai Electric Power until about 40.
He would leave even in the middle of the night during storms or typhoons to repair damage.
He wasn’t a talkative man, but in those moments, I saw him as a hero.
