These are Akoya pearl stud earrings.

Flower Jem mainly works with natural blue baroque Akoya pearls,
but I sometimes feel the desire to place more classic pearls in my shop as well.

The pearl sizes are 6.40 mm and 6.42 mm, very close to each other.
Their appearance is also remarkably similar.

They have well-formed nacre layers, yet the pearls show a high level of transparency.

They are neither dyed nor treated, but they carry a faint pink overtone.

It is a delicate, soft pink, much like cherry blossoms.

The fittings are made of Platinum 900.

White gold was once used as a substitute for expensive platinum,
but nowadays white gold itself has become quite expensive,
and it seems that the relationship has reversed.

Now, the name of these earrings is “Meltwater.”

They reminded me of clear drops of water.

And as I write this, it is March 17, 2026.
Winter is making its final resistance against the coming spring.

It becomes warm, then cold again—
winter is stubbornly holding on.

Last year, cherry blossoms had already bloomed around this time,
but this year they have not yet.

They may reach full bloom in the latter half of March 2026.

Cherry blossoms bloom fully and then fall very quickly.

There is an old saying from the Edo period, around 200 years ago:
“Among flowers, the cherry blossom; among men, the warrior.”

As times change, values also change greatly.

If humanity still exists 200 years from now,
I wonder whether round pearls will still be considered the standard.

However, I believe that the value of luster and nacre thickness will remain unchanged.

Luster is, after all, the life of a pearl.

Following trends requires effort,
and I am not very good at that.

But the beauty of pearls exists independently of trends.

Something that is unaffected by trends
feels, in a way, comforting.

The earrings introduced here are nearly round in shape,
very much model students.

They have strong luster and a calm, soft pink tone.

Because they are such “model students,”
they may lack a sense of individuality.

Perhaps we should not take such things for granted,
and from time to time,
offer words of appreciation.
