These are small Akoya pearl earrings.

I am writing this article on September 16, 2026, but these earrings were made on September 20, 2025.

At that time, there were very few pearl products left in my shop, so I sorted good-quality pearls in several sizes and made 12 pairs. This pair is one of them.

In 2026, Flower Jem has been handling many 9mm Akoya pearls, which are considered relatively large for Akoya pearls, so many of the pieces I list are also around 9mm.

However, 9mm is still only one size category. By listing smaller pearls as well, I also want to show that Flower Jem works with a wide range of pearl sizes.

As you can see in the photos, these 4mm pearls have strong luster, no visible wounds, and thick nacre. The nacre looks very dense to me, and depending on the light, I especially like the way the inside of the pearls seems to shine silver. I feel that the nacre has formed very well.

So why did it take almost a year for earrings made in September 2025 to be listed?

Just after I made these earrings, I began receiving a series of custom orders. Things settled down around this spring, but then I purchased a large number of 9mm pearls and spent a great deal of time making more than ten strands of 9mm pearl necklaces.

After that work settled down, I began listing, one by one, the pieces that had already been made but had never been put up for sale.

Flower Jem is run by one person, and on weekdays I also work full-time at another job. Little by little, I continue to introduce different kinds of Akoya pearl jewelry, along with articles about pearls.

I hope that, through both their appearance and the stories and information behind them, you will come to like pearls even more.
